Sacred Sound - An Introduction to Sanskrit Mantra Practice

Mantra is an ancient technology that can be used to calm the mind, create new neural pathways and develop the ability for greater focus and concentration.

The practice of chanting mantras is a dynamic way to connect to the deep well of your inner wisdom. 

Coming together in community and chanting is powerful.

This is a 3 part workshop that is great if you are looking for new ways to inspire and engage your practice.

The experience will include:

-an overview of different traditional mantra practices from India

-learning the sounds in the Sanskrit alphabet

- brief joint opening and mindful movement sequence to prepare the body for practice

- japa practice - meditation using repetition of mantra 

- opening and closing mantras for any practice

- mudras (hand yoga) that can be used during any meditation practice

-a handbook and links to recordings of all mantras used

In Person classes will be held at Rosemont Wellness Center, 619 Brighton Ave in Portland.

Sundays at 10AM on 2/25, 3/3 and 3/10

No experience required. All levels welcome.
