Reiki & Sound Healing Mentorships

When I first took my Reiki trainings…

I knew I was going to be a practitioner. I was committed to learning all I could so that I could be a competent energy healer.

I had been studying my own energy system with a mentor for about 20 years before I decided I was ready to begin offering sessions to clients. At that point I attended Reiki 1, 2 and 3 all within a year. Each training was an amazing experience, but to reach the level of practical understanding in my craft I wanted more support and more guidance as I practiced on people.

I was lucky first to have studied with a Reiki teacher who allowed me to assist at her trainings which was an excellent opportunity to observe the teachings and transmissions from the other side of the table. I also went to her for ongoing healing attunements and sessions where we talked through each step on the table as I was receiving. There was lots of time for questions and feedback.

As I prepared for my Master level training I was double lucky to be blessed with a mentor who took me to the next level, watched me like a hawk to be sure I was practicing safely and protecting my own energy as I worked on people. To this day, I continue my studies with her as I evolve into deeper levels of my own healing in order to be a clear conduit for healing energy to move through in my work with others.

People come to Reiki trainings for all kinds of reasons. Some people want to add it to an existing service they offer. Some people do it for personal evolution and to care for themselves and family, or to volunteer their services at various centers such as hospice. Some people want to offer full Reiki sessions for clients publicly.

Mentorship can be a valuable addition to your training for any of these situations, however, if you plan of practicing on clients, for me, I would say mentorship has been an integral part of the journey.

There is a certain level of practice with feedback necessary to confidently put yourself out there. Remember, energy healing is not something we can always see in real time and developing trust in your intuition isn’t always easy on your own. It can be very helpful to have validation of your instincts as your connection grows.
