Most of us lead pretty busy lives. It is so easy to get wrapped up in the constant doing and forget about the importance of being. We get caught up in thinking so much about things that we lose touch with how we actually feel about them. Bringing the awareness out of the mind and into the body is a guiding force in my classes so that an overall balance in well being can be achieved.
I offer private Reiki sessions, 1:1, and small group yoga classes, weekly meditation classes, and traveling yoga where I bring the practice to you. Having worked for several years with children in theatre arts I am always excited to teach family and kids yoga classes as well as workshops for teachers wishing to incorporate yoga and breath work into the classroom. I also love the opportunity to introduce newcomers to yoga and help seasoned practitioners go back to the basics to find new depth to their practice.
I live in Portland with my husband and two amazing daughters. Recently I noticed a quote one of my daughters had posted on the refrigerator that sums it all up for me.
Melissa received her 500hr AYTT with ShivaShakti School of Yoga where she received specialty certifications in Pranayama Meditation, Yoga Nidra and Children’s Yoga. She has also trained in Restorative Yoga with Margo Rosingana, and is currently a student of Sanskrit and the Bhagavad Gita with Prem Sadasivananda.
