classes & workshops
This class includes traditional Hatha Yoga poses and gentle breath work. The pace of the class makes it accessible for beginners with options within each sequence for more seasoned practitioners. There is ample focus on alignment in each posture with focus on lengthening and strengthening throughout.
Restorative Yoga allows the body to come to deep relaxation while doing passive stretches completely supported by props. This allows for a reset of the nervous system into rest and digest. Really wonderful for every ability and level.
Yoga Nidra is the practice of sleep with trace awareness. A completely guided meditation bringing the body, mind and spirit together in deep relaxation. Holding the awareness in this state of consciousness is extremely healing. Benefits of this practice are many including feeling deeply rested, stress relief, improved digestion, pain reduction and an overall sense of well being.
Meditation and Mantra
In this class we will alternate methods of meditation each week so that you may experience how different approaches work for you. Using mantra we will explore the sacred language of Sanskrit and how the vibrations of these sounds can improve our health and well being. Come join me for an exploration of all the benefits these practices can bring.
Creating Peace - Mindfulness for the Classroom with Yoga
Practicing the ability to pay attention to one thing at one time is the essence of what we call mindfulness. We use these techniques to calm the nervous system and strengthen focus. More and more, studies are showing a link between mindfulness and improved classroom performance. In this workshop we will practice yoga and breathing techniques that you can incorporate into your classroom for more balance and peace in your classroom and your life.
Family and Kids Yoga Classes
In my family and kids classes I combine age appropriate mindfulness games, breathing techniques and yoga poses with story, art and imaginative play.
