THE SACRED SOUND OF SARASWATĪ

A 40-Day Meditation Practice with Sanskrit Mantra

April 7 - May 19 (no class on May 12)

Mantra is vibrational cleansing. When we chant, we purify negative energy.

Mantra is sound healing. When we chant, we clear stagnant energy and open up space for vital life force to fill.

Mantra is actively engaging. If you haven’t tried it, mantra may be a great practice for you. It actively engages your your creative force (throat chakra) and anchors a busy mind. It develops concentration, and leads to an easier time sitting with yourself.

Mantra lifts vibration. It lifts your personal vibration and radiates out, lifting the vibration of your immediate environment and beyond.

Mantra is an excellent vehicle to connect you to your deepest inner wisdom and intuition.

Develop a deeper connection to your intuition and discernment in order to be a confident creative force in your life.

In Sanskrit sara is translated as "flow" or "essence" and svati means "of self" or to individuate. Saraswati is an energy of being in the flow of your own pure creative force. When you are moving against the natural flow of your life, things can be much more challenging. Saraswatī invites you to listen and allow the flow of intuition to carry you towards your highest potential.

Saraswatī is vak, the power of speech. She is the expression of thought as it manifests through words and actions. She helps you find your voice so that you can move with greater alignment and integrity.

She is the organizing principle of the universe. Working with Saraswatī helps us see through illusion by developing inner vision that can find clarity in confusion. She helps us discern what is the ego mind and what is real.

Honored as the patron of all creative arts, inner wisdom, external knowledge, focus, and concentration, cultivating a relationship with Saraswatī can assist you in standing comfortably in your skin and allowing the truth of who you are to shine brilliantly out into the world.

Thank you to Sri for creating a beautiful way for us to learn, practice and heal together! Sri is an amazing human that brings so much passion and love into teaching. I cannot wait to learn more. After a 45 day chanting practice I feel so connected & empowered.
— September Blake

I love this class! I’m getting my sadhana back on track and it feels wonderful to be with everyone.
— Sraddha Heather Goulette

THE PRACTICE:

My intention with these containers is to make it as easy as possible to feel to engaged with your practice. We will be learning simple Saraswatī mantras to use for daily japa practice (repetition of mantra). I will also be sharing mantras from the Saraswatī Stotram and Medhā Suktam

The goal will be to set up a steady practice, taking time each day to chant, to connect with the universal intelligence that this deity embodies and invite an awareness of how this energy is alive inside you. We’ll meet twice a week (+additional morning practice) to reflect, learn and practice together in a supportive online group. All classes will be recorded if you are unable to attend live. Recordings will available in the Teachable portal for you to access any time.

There will also be ideas for supplementary practices to go along with the chanting if you wish to spend more time on any given day.

Thank you Sri for this opportunity to be a part of this wonderful group of women and to move deeper into my devotional practice. It has made a deep impression on me and one that draws me deeper with each chant. Thank you and then a million more.

Sri Devi’s Sacred Sound workshop opened up a whole world to me, more deeply attuned to the vibrations of the universe. Her passion and ability to teach and bring the deeper meanings of the mantras to light as well as the skill to teach the technical aspects of pronunciation and Sanskrit reading and writing have considerably deepened my practice. I am so thankful to Sri for sharing her wisdom
