Sacred Sound of Lakshmi

A 40-Day Meditation Practice w/Sanskrit Mantra

April 6 - May 18

Lakshmi is the sustaining force of the universe.

In the Vedic pantheon, the qualities embodied in various gods and goddesses fall into categories inside the cycle of life. There are energies that support the beginning, sustain the middle, and aid with the transformation from one thing to another. Chanting to these lines of universal energy activates these qualities inside ourselves as we move through our personal evolution.

The world is going through a transformative time, but inside of that larger transformation we are still experiencing different phases of our own life-journey. Although, we too, are transforming, it’s important to take a break from the struggle and remember to nourish and enjoy the life we have.

Goddess Lakshmi is the light and energy of all the things that make life worth living. All the things that make you feel good. She’s the underlying principle of love, nourishment, manifestation, abundance, peace, harmony and spiritual wisdom. She is the energy of what makes you smile, what brings you joy, what inspires love in your heart.

As we step into the energy of spring, we can take cues from nature to come forward with a new appreciation of life in these bodies. We can invite the energy of the earth to support our well-being and joy.

This is vital. If life isn’t appreciated and enjoyed, life withers.

Join me for 40-days of resting our awareness on all that is good and worthwhile, allowing it to nourish you, so that you can be an illuminating force for those around you.

The class and the chanting are so excellent!

This is just the thing I needed to learn. My oldest daughter just went to college this semester and it has been a hard road. The chanting has given me something else to focus on and has grown so beautifully to help me pay attention to myself!

Everything has been so accessible, the teachable website and the constant audio of the different chanting. Thank you so much for that.

I am learning so much. You have made it so easy to learn and practice!

THE PRACTICE:

My intention with these containers is to make it as easy as possible to feel engaged with your practice. We’ll be learning simple Lakshmi mantras to use for daily japa practice (repetition of mantra). The goal will be to set up a steady practice that works for you, taking some time each day to chant, inviting an awareness of how mantras may bring shifts in our own lives and the world around us.

We meet twice a week for class/group practice and the game is for each of us to keep your our practice going in between meet ups.

There will also be ideas for supplementary practices to go along with the chanting if you wish to spend more time on any given day.

I loved this, settling in and practicing together. I haven’t had an asana practice in years, so adding that gently with the chanting was potent. Yum. Thank you.
— Alice R.

SCHEDULE:

Sundays & Tuesdays at 7PM EST with 3 bonus pop-up classes Fridays at 7AM EST *You will receive all class recordings whether or not you are able to attend live.

  • symbology and myths of the Goddess Lakshmi

  • psychological attributes of this energy and how we can lean into them for our greatest benefit

  • group chanting/meditation

  • Friday morning pop-up classes will incorporate gentle asana (yoga postures), pranayama (breathwork), meditation and mantra, that you can use as a general practice throughout the weeks as you like.

No experience necessary, however, a sincere desire to work with mantra is important.

Sri Devi’s Sacred Sound workshop opened up a whole world to me, more deeply attuned to the vibrations of the universe. Her passion and ability to teach and bring the deeper meanings of the mantras to light as well as the skill to teach the technical aspects of pronunciation and Sanskrit reading and writing have considerably deepened my practice. I am so thankful to Sri for sharing her wisdom
